Idiot DJ's Running Off At The Mouth

"All of them! All of them! Are voting for Barack because he's black"

First off, ALL OF whom?

This was said AFTER this fidiot DJ said that he is a Republican and gets treated like a racist because he isn't voting for Obama. He also said that JUST BECAUSE he's Republican doesn't mean that he's racist and that's why he isn't voting for Barack. He isn't voting for him because he doesn't feel he's qualified.

My question is...why is it okay for YOU to have a reason aside from race for NOT voting for Barack but anyone who votes FOR him is ONLY doing it because he's Black? THIS is the very kind of thinking that puts me in a rage...people and their point of views that they ONLY apply to themselves but can't manage to see someone else thinking differently.

The truth is, yes, there are SOME who are voting for Barack Obama because he is Black but there are ALSO SOME who are voting for him because he is the better choice (in their opinion) for the next president of the United States; and there are some that are loyal to their political party and are voting for him because its the Democrats choice.

Blanket statements kill me because they TOTALLY disregard any other opinion than your shatty one. IF you believe the MAJORITY of something IS accurate, then SAY THAT! To say ALL, NEVER, or any other word that would strictly rule out the opinion or experiences of someone else is just...close minded. Makes me want to punch people in the mouth since they don't know what to let come out of it...

My coffee is cold...going to warm it up...

I think that when MOST ppl make blanket statements, they MEAN "the majority". I mean...there's no way to possibly categorize things and say that EVERYONE does any one thing. If they dont SAY "majority", I think it's pretty fair to assume that since really thinking that a person means ALL is kinda off to begin with really..

I am voting for him because he is the right choice for change period. I got into a discussion (not to be confused with 'debate') with one of my homegirls on Sunday. Her and I and another homie were talking about politics and she said(in so many words), "I am voting for him because he is black". I figured that had to be it because she said soemthing like, "his views align with mine...but if he were a Republican and had the same views as McCain, i woudlnt agree with him...but i'd still vote for him"

Crickets exactly, Syn. I said, "ummm so that means youre voting for him BECAUSE he's black?" She denied such a claim. I said, "well I'm NOT. If he had the same twisted and hasty thinking as McCain, i'd be voting for the candidate opposite him if that candidate had views that i agreed with."

I think it's closed minded to vote for him on Blackness alone.

You can't speak for EVERYONE Mallori because that isn't what EVERYONE means. There are some people who genuinely believe in the blanket statments that they make. You may make that mistake but there are some people who are not making a mistake. So no, it isn't fair to assume anything when people are talking. That is why it is important to SAY WHAT YOU MEAN and MEAN WHAT YOU SAY. Otherwise, you'll go through life "clarifying" things a lot more than necessary.

Believe it or not, there are SOME people who classify things into a GROUP versus individually. Have you ever heard someone say "Black people do this..." or "White people do that..."? There are SOME people who GENUINELY believe that certain groups of people tend to behave a certain way; while that might be true for SOME, it is NEVER true for ALL.

Everyone does not think the same so NEVER assume to know what someone else is thinking or meant to say.

As for voting for Barack because he's Black, if that is someone's reason for voting then that's THEIR reason. I may not agree with it because it isn't based on much but hey, it's their reason. Just like I don't agree that just because you are a Republican, you HAVE to vote for McCain.

People do things on a daily basis that is based on nothing more than what they were taught as children or they grew to believe as adults and while it might not be the SMARTEST thing in the world to you, I or THE MAJORITY, it is still their decision.

I think the ENTIRE PLANET needs to consistently take classes in communication with one another as well as the ability to understand other POVs (instead of challenging them) even when we don't agree with them.
